The Siskiyou Opportunity Center is a 501(3)c nonprofit organization that provides vocational training, employment and placement services for individuals with disabilities in Siskiyou County. The Mt. Shasta facility at 1217 S. Mt. Shasta Blvd has been providing vocational training since 1970. Over the years they have developed services and product for the community to provide meaningful work and financial support for their programs. In Mt. Shasta they have operated a State Certified Recycling Center since 1990. They have a complete wood shop that produces outdoor furniture, contractor stakes, fencing, firewood, kindling and wood gift items. They also do assembly work, confidential shredding and recently started a snack box vending service.

In 2000 they opened another program facility at 1217 S. Main St. Suite D in Yreka. At this facility they provide confidential shredding, bulk mailing, mail processing, copying services and the honor box vending service for small businesses.

In addition to facility-based programs they have five community-based crews providing landscaping and janitorial services for Cal Trans Rest Areas, a motel in Weed, classrooms throughout the county, churches and business organizations and nonprofits.

The Siskiyou Opportunity Center is proud to add the Mt. Shasta showroom and gift shop this month to their long list of services and products. The new showroom and gift shop will be open Monday thru Friday from 9 am -4 pm. Wood shop tours will be available upon request. Everyone is invited to come by and check out the new facility.
