Janet Biondi, an Active Release Techniques® provider and CMT recently opened her new office at “The Plaza” off of Ream Ave in Mt. Shasta at 108 Siskiyou Ave. She has bought the business of Dr. Chet Collins, an ART provider who recently moved out of the area.

ART is a patented form of soft tissue bodywork which addresses not only sports injuries but common muscular, nerve and ligament problems as well. It is highly effective for repetitive motion injuries and cumulative trauma disorder. ART is successful for professional and amateur athletes, people injured in auto accidents or on the job, those with arthritis pain and for people who just work and play hard.

Active release Techniques®, as the name implies, uses motion to fix the problem. Once the injury has been assessed, the provider uses hands-on treatment in a gentle manner and patient motion to “free up” the problem areas where adhesion or scar tissue occurs. An ART provider is trained to treat more than 300 muscular and fascial injuries and over 100 nerve entrapments which often causes numbness and tingling. Most people experience a rapid recovery in a short amount of time when receiving ART.

Janet will be donating her services to participants of the Tinman Triathlon event in Mount Shasta on September 6th, held at Lake Siskiyou Marina and at the Whiskeytown Relays on September 20th.

ART is an official sponsor of the Ironman Triathlon and allows certified providers to attend and work on competing athletes prior to and on race day.  Biondi will be an attending ART provider at the Kona Ironman event this October in Kona, Hawaii.
