Melody Perdikis, Licensed Massage Therapist, would like to welcome new and existing clients to her new location. She has moved her practice to the office of Dr. Nathan Sivananda, Chiropractor, located at 1180 S. Mt. Shasta Blvd.
As the cool autumn winds signal the changing seasons, it becomes more important than ever to keep our bodies healthy. Receiving regular massage sessions is a great way to keep our immune system strong. It’s a healthy treat we all deserve.
Melody has been providing massage therapy services throughout Siskiyou County since 1997. She became interested in bodywork while working as a physical therapy aide for Mercy Outpatient Physical Therapy. During this time, Melody increased her knowledge of kinesiology, therapeutic exercises and stretching. From this foundation, Melody attended Ashland Institute of Massage in Ashland, OR and became licensed in 1996.
Melody’s main disciplines are deep tissue therapy any myofascial release. She has found these techniques most effective in treating clients with acute injuries and/or difficult chronic pain conditions. Other modalities include hot stone therapy, aromatherapy, Chi Nei Tsang oriental internal organ massage, and therapeutic stretching.
Along with these offerings, Melody continues to expand her knowledge of the healing arts by attending yearly continuing education courses. She recently attended a course in Neuromuscular Therapy for the neck. This technique is beneficial for neck pain and stiffness, headaches, TMJ syndrome and other upper body conditions.
Melody has been seeing clients at the new location since February and she has found it very convenient for clients that also receive chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Sivananda. Together, Chiropractic and massage facilitate the natural healing power by keeping the body in proper alignment, while ensuring a free-flow of nerve impulses and circulation fluids.
Massage therapy sessions are scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Some Saturday appointments are available with advance notice. Melody also offers on-site home visits for an additional charge. Seniors receive a discount for services. In addition, gift certificates are available for holidays and special occasions.
Receiving massage therapy on a regular basis is very healthy to the mind, body and soul. Appointments can be made by calling Melody at 530-926-0507, or visit www.massagebymelody.com.
