Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-country skiers will find excellent conditions in the higher elevations throughout Siskiyou County. Mt. Shasta draws many skiers because of the excellent access via Everitt Memorial Highway, which is plowed to Bunny Flat. Two of the most popular areas on Mt. Shasta are the Sand Flat trailhead and Bunny Flat.
The Mt Shasta Nordic Center was formed in early 2006 by members of the Mt Shasta area Nordic community who recognized that the Nordic skiing infrastructure Northern California could be preserved and enhanced by a community group passionate about cross-country skiing.
